"almost perfect"
We stayed four nights at the Barcelo in early October. Design-wise, expect an über-modern building and rooms. We loved the shower (an oversized glass box with multiple shower heads :) -- there was no 2 ft high bathtub to step over, in contrast to another reviewer's comment). Reminded me a lot of the Rigihof in Zürich, or The Square in Copenhagen, both of which are among my favorite hotels. Location-wise, the hotel is right across the road from the Palace of Arts and Sciences, and there is easy access to the Turia urban park. It's hike from the old town, though (take the #19 bus, or a taxi, both of which are cheap). Don't expect many restaurants or nightlife in the area, although a fabulous El Corte Ingles department store is just a few blocks away. Other reviewers have pointed out the lack of a swimming pool, but the view from the rooftop exercise room blows you away! The hotel is relatively new, so I guess the staff are still ironing out the bugs, but (1) for a business hotel, the malfunctioning wireless internet was unacceptable (as were the staff's hopeless efforts to provide a Cat5 network cable) (2) the buffet breakfast was a disappointment, both in terms of food and service, and (3) water in the shower was sometimes lukewarm during the morning rush-hour. These are minor issues, though, and I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Valencia.

"Pretty Good Hotel"
Nice modern hotel in the Arts and Science's area of the city. Rooms are good, but the showers are quite poor - ours was on blistering hot water for a couple of minutes until it cooled down when we had it on cold water mode.
Not that far to the old town so don't worry about that :). A couple of large malls to close by, so food is easy to get a hold off. Overall above average and good rates when booking direct.

"Great hotel, Great location (for City of Arts and Sciences complex)"
I arranged a seminar in this hotel to coincide with the America's Cup event. The location of the hotel is Good - it's perfect for 'new' part of town - the City of Arts and Sciences complex, but the old town, ports and beaches are reasonable walk away. It's also not a very 'happening' part of town - there are a few bars and restaurants (Italian, Thai) within 2 minutes walk.
The hotel's very modern, with good facilities to business users - free WiFi and good conference rooms. The rooms carry this modern feel, with plenty of switches and buttons to press, and ultra-modern fittings.
Food is good, and I'd highly recommend the hotel's restaurant.
If you stay here, make sure you check out the stunning architecture and aquarium that's within a stones throw. I'd also recommend the underground restaurant (El Submarino) that's hidden beneath the aquarium.

"Look no further - JUST AWESOME!!!!!"
This hotel is the best place I have EVER stayed - we simply LOVED every minute of it. The location is brilliant - right across the road from the Science Museum, Aquarium and Planetarium.
There is a bus stop just outside the hotel that takes you into the city for shopping and site-seeing, two shopping centres just down the street the opposite way and the port a short 5minute bus ride too away. Spend a day at the Science Museum, Aquarium and Planetarium - if you go with friends then pay for just half and swap tickets as you can come and go as you like. The development is beautiful, modern and clean - such an amazing place and we WANT to go back!!!!
We will definitely stay at the hotel again - its so beautiful. The room we had was really really clean and modern with stunning fittings - altho the TV could have been better tuned but we survived. The view was gorgeous as we overlooked the museums and the food at the breakfast FANTASTIC!!!! A great range even for vegetarians and the staff were really helpful and attentive.
The room was lovely with great toilettries and topped up every day - only missing a toilet brush but hey, you cant be perfect.
We got a VIP package with champagne and strawberries on arrival - and got to experience the Hydro circuit which was fantastic as well - really really recommend it - or you can pay just €15 - bargain for an hour of luxury! €30 if you get a massage included! I didnt get the massage but my friends did and they LOVED it!! There is an onsite beautician/hairdresser and tho the girls who worked there didnt understand a word of English they certainly tried VERY VERY hard and were just so lovely and patient. In fact, I couldnt fault the staff at all - they were all so so wonderful and a credit to the hotel. I WILL be back and I recommend the hotel to everyone to give it a go as its just gorgeous!!
The tourist bus is not far from the hotel either, as well as brilliant restaurants and even tho it is on a round-about, you cant hear anything with the sound-proofed rooms. YAY!! A dream come true and I cant wait until we go back to Valencia!!!
