v.stanley pleasant lresidential location for walking and relaxing in parkland. convenient for science and art city and bus service into town. Comunity shops nearby.Room very clean and had sitting room included in price. Staff are reserved and lack warmth at first, but helpful and friendly as week progressed. We were the only english speaking visitors. Would recommend.

"Great value as a base" Husa Serrano is a bland looking block in a residential area. Inside it far better. It's a location between the city centre and the beach. We'd use it again as it is good value. Rooms are fine and have aircon, although some of the paint is a little tired. Our balcony was a good size and got the sun all afternoon and evening. Great for winding down with a bit of Sangria, although the view is nothing to write home about. Staff are very helpful and a mix of Spanish and English got things sorted out. Buses go from close to the hotel to the centre (6,35) and it's about a five minute walk across the dried-up river to the 19 bus for the beach. Supermarket 200 yards away, some bars and a cluster of restaurants (from burgers to posh) five minutes walk (out of hotel, turn right, left at roundabout, on left opposite NH hotel). Just about the whole area closes down on Sunday (even bars) except for the pizzeria on the roundabout by the hotel. We caught the 150 bus from departures at the airport -€1 each- to the bus station. Bus 8 to the Placa Ayuntament then Bus 6 or 35 will get you to the hotel or we paid €6.50 for a taxi from the bus station to the hotel. Bus tickets are €1 per bus but tobacconists sell Bonobus cards - 10 trips for €5 or so. Good value and we'd use it again.
