"Good value"
We stayed just one night in the hotel Silken Puerta Valencia. It is located between downtown and the sea. I found it a little too far from downtown, but it was ok for one night. Also it is located on a busy street, we had a room on the side of the street and I found it a little noisy, even at night.
The hotel does have a parking, which is good since parking on the street is almost impossible (11 EUR / night).
The staff was friendly upon our arrival, a little less at check out time... Maybe too much stress then?
The room was spacious, with a huge bed. Lots of complementary toiletteries. The whole building is non smoking area. The windows from the rooms can not be opened, not such a fan of this, but the AC was wroking good, so it was ok.
All in one it is an ok hotel, but I would stay somewhere else more in the center next time.

"Lovely hotel"
We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of May 07. We drove from the airport to the hotel - really easy to find and it was great to have secure underground parking - €11 per night.
The staff were all young, enthusiastic and very helpful - from recommending places for dinner in the old town on our first night, to finding a shop selling phrasebooks that was open on a Sunday - no mean feat in Spain! And even helping me with my very basic spanish, but smiling all the while and seeming to genuinely like helping.
The rooms were a little larger than average, but the beds are HUGE! And so comfy. Our windows did open, and the air con is very efficient, but also very controllable. Rooms are stylish and contemporarily decorated, and the showers are good and strong, and the rooms are extremely clean.
Food in the cafe bar was reasonably priced and really good. Apparently the restaurant is lovely - unfortunately we just didn't have time to eat there but it looked promising.
We didn't find the location of the hotel a problem at all, as taxi's were so cheap anyway and the hotel isn't that far from things...€8 in a taxi to the port, €8 in a taxi to the old town and the metro stop is literally a 5 min walk from the hotel.
All in all a really good find in Valencia.

"Very nice"
Everything was perfect from the very beginning.
Staff was profesional, helpful and friendly at the front desk.
The reception area is big and confortable. Access to the rooms and car park is perfect.
The room was very nice, beds very confortable and roomy wardrobe. Lights well conceived.
The bathroom was perfectly spacious.
I will be back.

"Superb hotel"
I'm a travelagent and on a discovery trip to Valencia I've stayed in this hotel for 2 nights.
It's a new hotel (opened last year), very modern design, large rooms and well equiped bathroom. The hotel is very clean, staff is friendly. The breakfastbuffet is excellent, lots of choice!!! There's a bar and a small restaurant.
Reserve a room in the back if you want to leave the window open because the front can be noisy.
The hotel is located in the modern part of the city, near the Cuidad de las Artes y las Ciencias. The city center (old part) is 20 minutes by foot or 10 by taxi (6 Euro) or bus.

"Absolutely brilliant!"
just came back from a 5 day stay at the Silken Puerta Valencia, and I would like to recommend it!
The hotel is very stylish and the rooms are big and airy with a lovely bathroom. It's also spotless and the staff are very friendly!
The hotel has a nice restaurant/bar too. Amazing classy hotel and excellent value for money!
Around the hotel there are a few bars, there is a very good jazz bar 5 minutes away that opens until about 4am.
The town centre is about 20 min walk but you can jump on the nearby Aragon metro for 2 stops.
The city of sciences is only 10 min walk away and it's absolutely amazing place to visit.
All the best!

"Fantastic rooms"
I just returned from a weekend at the Silken Peurta. I found that the hotel was fantastic, especially for the cost. The rooms are incredibly modern, clean and well appointed with great decor (art deco style) The air con was fantastic and self controllable.
As mentioned by others the breakfast is great with loads of choice. The bar is stylish and not expensive. The hotel is about 20 minutes walk from the centre or just a 5 min taxi ride costing around 5 euros.
I would definitely stay here again if I returned to Valencia.
