"Excellent Value"
We paid 75 Euro a night though the Sol Melia website including an additional 5 Euro for a room with a balcony. Our room was on the 10th floor overlooking the new museums and was clean and quiet. Although the hotel is not within easy walking distance of the old town, cabs are cheap (less than 5 Euros) and the hotel receptionist will call one for you. The hotel has a small outdoor pool and is next door to a huge modern El Corte Ingles department store. There are several cafes and bars nearby. At the price that we paid for the room I think the hotel offers excellent value and service.

"Great Hotel!"
We booked Tryp Oceanic through Airmiles so it came at a much discounted price than is typical. We found the hotel extremely modern and well presented. From walking into the hotel we knew that the stay would be enjoyable. The hotel was always spotless and as well decorated as any 5***** hotel.
We had booked a 2-person double bedroom and it was beyond our expectations, both in terms of level of comfort and presentation. The bathroom was particulary enjoyed by my girlfriend who loved the marble finishes and modern designs.
The outdoor pool was small but was more than enough to accomodate the amount of people staying in the hotel. Very clean, too.
The bar, just facing the pool for poolside cocktails, was extremely nice and the barman Juan Carlos was extremely friendly and helpful.
The location of the hotel is very close to El Corte Ingles (the big spanish supermarket which sells EVERYTHING) and near a big shopping mall for any other shopping needs. It was also packed with restaurants (even a McDonalds if you really want one!) of all different types of food - mexican, italian, chinese, spanish. Plenty to choose from. There is also a bowling alley which is cheap and the staff give away free promos regularly.
The staff in the hotel were extremely accomodating and overall was excellent and we would definitely stay again.
Recommended! A+

"Wished we had booked for longer"
Only booked for one night as on our way back from the Costa de Azahar, an hour to the north of Valencia. Got a very good deal from Alpha Rooms of £70.00 B & B. Our room was bigger than many we have stayed in and was very quiet. Hotel was busy as International Furniture Exhibition was being held in Valencia but staff were helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was excellent and staff very attentive.
Although a taxi or bus ride away from the old town we enjoyed the area and views from the glass outside life were great at night.
Nearby E Corte Ingles and shopping mall definately a plus point, we wished we had been able to stay longer and hopefully return next year |

"My best choice for business travel"
From March to November 2005 I stayed at this hotel several nights every month, once I chose it as my regular base in Valencia.
From my point of view, it packs everything a business traveler who travels by car can demand.
First, It is easy to get to it by car and it is easy to get out o f the city once you leave. It always has a place to park your car indoor conveniently.
Staff is very professional and rapidly caters for any of your needs, including fast check-in and check-out, urgent ironing of your last shirt or a special light meal at your room for that particular night your stomach is not at his best. Of course you may think this was special treatment for me as a regular customer, but it was not. Special treatmente when I became a regular went way further.
Rooms are clean, spacious, modern and very practical for working on them. Internet connection is free, both WiFi and/or wired, and usually it worked flawlessly and faster than my home 4 Mbit DSL. Rooms were always quiet which is also a must.
If you want to get out for dinner there are plenty of restaurants and some bars in the area, and you have El Corte Inglés right across the street just in case you need to shop... welll, anything.
Many rooms allow you to enjoy a relaxing view over the "City of Arts and Science" with many modern buildings spotted over a large park in the former river path.
I have something against dining in the hotel restaurants when I'm on business solo travel, so I never did it. However, room service works fine and it covered my needs both in price and in quality. Breakfast was excellent when it comes to fruits, cheeses and juices, altough the hot side could be a little better. Some really excellent orange juice and above average ham were my favorite choices...
Of course there are some things that were not so good. "Tapas" area was a little far away, as was the city centre and the beach. Swimmimg pool was not large and bar was tiny. And sometimes air conditioning was too powerful in the common areas.
If you are on a solo business travel, this is a great choice if you go by car. It may be good also for visiting the "City of Arts and Science" wich can't be closer.
